49ers could be looking for an Eddy Piñiero replacement

During their current bye week, the San Francisco franchise is evaluating the future of kicker Eddy Piñiero following a narrow defeat against Atlanta. Through seven appearances this season, the veteran specialist has struggled with accuracy, totaling four failed extra-point attempts alongside three missed field goals.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledged that leadership would address the kicking situation during their travel arrangements. When questioned regarding a potential tryout session for alternative specialists or any direct conversations with Piñiero about his performance, Shanahan indicated no special meetings took place, noting that the player is well aware of the necessity to convert scoring opportunities.
