Did Rams sense Jared Verse was turning into a 1st round bust?

Through his first seven outings with the Cleveland Browns following a trade from Los Angeles, Jared Verse has failed to record a single sack in his third professional campaign. Analysts point to his heavy reliance on a power rush rather than developing counter moves like a spin, swipe, or rip as a reason for his stagnant production.

This slow start has sparked speculation over whether the Los Angeles Rams anticipated these limitations before parting ways with the former first-round selection. As edge rushers continue to command lucrative extensions exceeding forty-five million dollars in average annual value, questions remain regarding how Los Angeles evaluates high-draft-capital investments.

While sacks do not capture every facet of a defensive player's impact, the combination of zero sacks and a predictable pass-rushing approach has intensified scrutiny on the young edge defender.
