
Following a ten-day break, the Detroit Lions bounced back to defeat the New York Jets 31-24 during Week 3. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs powered the offense with 20 carries for 99 yards, three rushing scores, seven receptions for 65 yards, and the decisive touchdown.
Quarterback Jared Goff contributed 269 yards and two touchdowns through the air despite absorbing two sacks, while Sione Vaki added six rushes for 26 yards. Christian Mahogany and Blake Miller returned to bolster the offensive line, which surrendered only two penalties all afternoon.
Defensively, David Bailey recorded five tackles and a tackle for loss for the Jets.
