Indian athlete Manpreet Kaur claimed the bronze medal in the women's shot put event at the 2026 Asian Games held in Nagoya, recording a best throw of 17.17 metres during her fourth attempt. This achievement makes her only the third woman from her country to reach the podium in this specific discipline at the continental games.
Her compatriot Krishna Jayasankar finished in fifth position with a throw of 16.57 metres. Meanwhile, Chinese competitors Jiayuan Song and Linru Zhang captured the gold and silver medals with distances of 19.40 metres and 18.14 metres respectively.
