Sports commentator Emmanuel Acho recently criticized Angel Reese following a steep drop in her production during Games 4 and 5 of the WNBA Finals. After Reese led the Atlanta Dream to a 2-1 series lead behind three consecutive double-doubles and vocal trash talk, she struggled immensely on offense, putting up just eight points in the fourth game and seven points in the fifth contest.

Acho argued that her previous dominance invited heavy scrutiny, comparing her offensive slump unfavorably to past defensive standouts like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Hakeem Olajuwon.

Following a dismal Game 5 performance where the Dream managed a franchise-low 55 points, both Reese and head coach Karl Smesko expressed deep frustration with the officiating crew. Smesko argued that referees permitted excessive contact against his star player, while Reese claimed the whistle noticeably changed after her team took the series lead.
