Former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler recently offered a candid critique regarding a chaotic scene at a grappling event press conference. Lawler watched from the front row as competitors Arman Tsarukyan and Dillon Danis engaged in a heated verbal exchange that eventually escalated into a full-scale brawl involving other athletes.
Speaking with reporters afterward, Lawler expressed disappointment in the lack of professionalism displayed during the altercation. He emphasized that combat sports competitors should model better behavior for younger fans and work collectively to elevate the reputation of wrestling.
The incident occurred ahead of an upcoming grappling showcase scheduled at Fontainebleau. During the press conference, Danis displayed a provocative garment referencing an earlier confrontation with Khamzat Chimaev, who is set to face Lawler in the co-main event.
The resulting melee quickly drew in multiple participants, including Chimaev. Lawler maintained that his own focus remains strictly on his upcoming athletic competition rather than backstage drama, though he reiterated his hope that athletes will elevate their conduct during public promotional appearances moving forward.
