Pakistan coach Mike Hesson is maintaining confidence in veteran batters Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman ahead of the upcoming ODI tri-series final. Despite the pair struggling for form throughout the tournament, Hesson believes their status as two of the nation's all-time greats makes them prime candidates to perform when the stakes are highest at Gaddafi Stadium.
Babar has posted scores of 45, 34, 10, and 29, while Fakhar has managed totals of 16, 0, 10, and 5.
Pakistan reached the championship match following three consecutive victories, including wins over England and Sri Lanka, alongside a narrow one-wicket triumph secured by Shadab Khan's century. Although the team recently dropped their final league match to Sri Lanka by eight wickets, Hesson remains optimistic that the squad has yet to play their best cricket.
He views the team's ability to win despite top-order inconsistency as a positive indicator for the title clash.
