'They Ultimately Said No': Internet Invitational Rejects Female Golfer’s Tee Box Request Amid Draft Disadvantage

Hailey Rae Ostrom requested that female competitors be permitted to play from forward tee boxes at the upcoming 2026 Internet Invitational, citing concerns that playing from the same distance as men negatively impacts women's handicaps and draft standing. Tournament organizers denied this request, maintaining a strict scratch-match format for the event, which features a 4 million dollar prize pool.

Paige Spiranac also commented on the situation, noting that the uniform tee requirements effectively alter the perceived handicap of female participants during the selection process. The tournament is scheduled to take place at Ozarks National.
