Prasidh Krishna has established himself as a central figure in India's one-day bowling attack, leading the squad with fifteen dismissals across eight appearances in the format throughout 2026. During the opening contest against the West Indies, the right-arm fast bowler contributed two wickets while conceding sixty runs, helping contain the opposition to 295 for seven across their full allocation of overs.
Speaking after the competition, Krishna credited his recent consistency to strong communication and clear shared understandings within the national squad, as well as his prior rapport with Gujarat Titans teammate Gurnoor Brar.
The same fixture featured a historic milestone from veteran batter Virat Kohli, who notched his fifty-fifth one-day century and crossed the threshold of fifteen thousand career runs in the format. Krishna expressed admiration for the legendary player's stellar strokeplay, noting that members of the bowling group watched in awe from the sidelines.
With the upcoming fifty-over global tournament roughly a year away, India boasts an extensive pool of fast bowling candidates, though Krishna welcomed the fierce internal competition alongside pace colleagues such as Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Hardik Pandya, and Harshit Rana.
