‘Syed Mushtaq Ali, Vijay Hazare and Ranji Trophy...’: Sanju Samson credits domestic circuit for grooming talent

Ahead of a men's cricket semifinal against Sri Lanka in the Asian Games, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson credited the country's domestic tournament structure alongside the Indian Premier League for cultivating deep talent pools across international and youth squads. Samson highlighted regional competitions like the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as vital pipelines supplying world-class cricketers.

Additionally, Samson lauded former captain Virat Kohli as a generational inspiration following Kohli's recent unbeaten ODI knock of 139 against the West Indies at Thiruvananthapuram, an innings that pushed his career ODI total past the 15,000-run threshold.
