The news has resonated deeply within the tennis community, with players like Sloane Stephens, Mirjam Shapovalov (wife of Denis Shapovalov), Ons Jabeur, Marta Kostyuk, Anna Kalinskaya, and Donna Vekic offering heartfelt condolences in the comments section of her post. Boulter’s emotional connection to Wimbledon was also highlighted, as she dedicated a memorable 2022 campaign to her late grandmother, Jill, who had passed away before the tournament.
Despite the personal tragedy, Boulter’s resilience shone through as she reached the third round, including a notable victory over former World No. 1 Karolina Pliskova.
Currently ranked World No. 56, Boulter most recently competed in Beijing, where she advanced to the second round before her run ended against Karolina Pliskova again.
