“So Atlanta Has Only One Player?”: WNBA Fans Call Out Sheryl Swoopes For Pushing Angel Reese Agenda Ahead of WNBA Finals

Ahead of the upcoming WNBA Finals, basketball legend Sheryl Swoopes urged supporters to watch the series strictly because of Angel Reese, arguing that the standout player is worth the ticket price entirely on her own. This endorsement sparked online backlash from fans who felt that Swoopes was ignoring the contributions of the rest of the Atlanta Dream roster.

Meanwhile, Reese addressed reporters regarding the formidable atmosphere of the Valkyries home arena, stating that she believes the loud venue will not present any major challenges for her team. Reese enters the championship round carrying strong away-game averages of 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks from previous matchups against Washington and New York.
