Following Ohio State's 30-18 defeat to USC on October 31, Michigan graduate Dave Portnoy launched a harsh personal attack on Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day. Portnoy, who has a long-standing rivalry with Day, criticized the coach's performance after freshman quarterback Luke Fahey started in place of the injured Julian Sayin.
USC dominated the contest early, building a 20-9 halftime lead and forcing a fumble to start the second half. Ohio State struggled to find the end zone until the final minutes of the game, when Fahey connected with Jeremiah Smith for a short touchdown pass.
Portnoy used the loss to mock Day's composure, claiming the coach consistently fails to handle pressure during critical matchups.
