Sarfaraz Khan has expressed frustration regarding his lack of consistent backing throughout his Test career, noting that his father remains his primary source of motivation. Despite his impressive domestic record, the Mumbai batter has faced frequent selection hurdles, including being sidelined during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and missing subsequent tours due to fitness concerns.
After dropping from 97 kg to 77 kg, he was recently recalled to the national squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka following an injury to Sai Sudharsan.
While competing in the Ranji Trophy, Sarfaraz admitted that he often questions the necessity of his grueling training regimen. He continues to wake up at 5 am daily to practice, driven primarily by a desire to honor his father's dedication.
Having previously debuted against England and scored a century against New Zealand, he remains prepared to play whenever called upon by selectors, whether for India or his domestic side.
