Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has expressed deep admiration for Virat Kohli following the senior batter's historic performance in the opening one-day international against the West Indies. Kohli anchored the Indian innings with an unbeaten knock of 139 runs from 88 deliveries, reaching his fifty-fifth century in the 50-over format and his eighty-sixth overall in international competition.
This milestone also pushed his career ODI total past the fifteen-thousand-run threshold, making him just the second player to achieve the feat. Shubman Gill provided strong support at the crease with a century of his own, helping propel the team total to 300 runs before the innings was cut short.
Speaking after the victory, Krishna admitted that teammates watching from the dugout were left stunned by the sheer quality of Kohli's shot-making during the masterclass. The fast bowler also made a vital contribution with the ball, securing two dismissals while conceding 60 runs across his full quota of ten overs.
That bowling effort helped restrict the opposing lineup to 295 runs for the loss of seven wickets, sealing a narrow win for the squad. Krishna later emphasized that thorough preparation and clear communication within the group have allowed him to execute his role effectively under pressure.
