'It was important for me to get some batting time' - KL Rahul after unbeaten century in ODI series finale

KL Rahul expressed relief at spending valuable time in the middle following an unbeaten 129 off 87 deliveries during the concluding one-day international against West Indies at New Chandigarh on October 3, 2026. His explosive knock pushed India to a formidable total of 351/7, marking his ninth century in the format and his second-fastest hundred overall.

During the course of his innings, the experienced middle-order batter surpassed 10,000 international runs to become the 15th Indian cricketer to reach the milestone. He also equaled MS Dhoni's record for the most centuries by an Indian at the number five position with his fourth hundred at that spot, though he admitted he was disappointed the squad missed out on a series clean sweep.
