“I’d Be An Idiot To Claim That” – Alexander Zverev Breaks Silence On World No. 1 Criticism Stemming From Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz Injuries

Newly confirmed year-end top-ranked player Alexander Zverev has addressed detractors who argue his ascent is merely the byproduct of health struggles faced by rivals Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. While acknowledging that Sinner previously held undisputed dominance when fully fit, the German top seed defended his physical endurance, noting that his daily training regimen heavily prioritizes injury prevention during the offseason.

Now competing at the indoor hard-court tournament in the Austrian capital, the reigning major champion advanced past Martin Landaluce and Tallon Griekspoor to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. He prepares to face British competitor Arthur Fery next, with a potential semifinal matchup looming against either Matteo Berrettini or Alex de Minaur.
