Alison Jackson (St Michel‑Preference Home‑Auber93) claimed victory on the fourth day of the Nedbank Gravel Burn, the elite women’s first bunch sprint of the seven‑day South African gravel race. After a rear‑derailleur battery issue forced her to stop, she repaired the bike, rejoined the pack and surged ahead in the final 500 metres to take the stage, saying she could still win the day.
Jackson, who finished 11th overall in the event last year, moved up to eighth in the general classification after the win. The stage featured a 90 km hilly route and a 12‑rider leading group, with Nele Laing (Canyon DT Swiss ATR) leading the overall standings, Hayley Preen (ChemChamp Honeycomb) second and Clara Koppenburg (Tudor Pro) third.
The podium behind Jackson was rounded out by Larissa Hartog, Carolin Schiff and Jade Treffeisen.
