Jay Vine has locked in his long-term athletic future by signing a contract extension with UAE Team Emirates-XRG that runs through the conclusion of the 2029 campaign. Despite encountering multiple setbacks throughout his 2026 racing calendar, including collisions with a kangaroo and heavy crashes at the Volta a Ciclista a Catalunya and the Giro d'Italia that resulted in broken bones and a concussion, the thirty-year-old managed to bounce back and secure second place at the Chrono des Nations behind Remco Evenepoel.
