The St. Louis Blues have been hit by another setback as forward Dillon Dube will miss at least eight weeks after sustaining a neck injury during Thursday’s 3-2 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks.
Dube, who had scored a shorthanded goal in the game, was already listed as doubtful for Saturday’s matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets and will now be replaced by Zach Dean. The injury adds to a string of setbacks for the Blues, with Tyler Tucker (knee), Alexey Toropchenko (upper body), and Logan Mailloux (hand) also out of the lineup.
Despite the challenges, coach Jim Montgomery emphasized the team’s depth, noting the opportunity for younger and veteran players to step up in his absence. Dube, a 28-year-old with 128 career points across 328 games for the Blues and Calgary Flames, has appeared in just three games this season.
