Oregon Ducks quarterback Dylan Raiola reflected on the emotional weight of Dante Moore’s recovery after a harrowing injury during the team’s 41–27 victory over USC last week. Moore was stretchered off the field mid-game at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, forcing Raiola into action as Oregon’s starter.
Though Raiola performed admirably—completing 19 of 25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns—his first priority upon seeing Moore days later was simply relief. The two quarterbacks, who have shared the spotlight this season, reunited with a hug rather than discussing the game, underscoring the deeper bond between teammates.
Raiola emphasized that Moore’s return to full health and the locker room was the true victory, overshadowing the football itself. Before the injury, Moore had led Oregon with 926 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and no interceptions, while Raiola had contributed 413 yards and five touchdowns in limited play.
Their dynamic remains central as Oregon’s season progresses, with both quarterbacks ranked in the top 40 nationally by Pro Football Focus.
