Buffalo wide receiver DJ Moore could miss Week 3 after sustaining an AC joint sprain during Thursday night's 41-31 victory against the Detroit Lions. The 29-year-old hurt his shoulder when landing awkwardly in Detroit's end zone during the second quarter of Buffalo's home opener, prompting locker room X-rays and his subsequent removal from the contest.
Medical staff currently view Moore as day-to-day, leaving his availability uncertain for the upcoming home clash against the Los Angeles Chargers, though a 10-day layoff following the Thursday matchup affords him extra recovery time. Before exiting, Moore recorded minus-one yard on a single carry without catching a pass.
The setback follows a strong debut for Buffalo, in which Moore tallied 100 receiving yards on five receptions during a 36-31 triumph over the Texans in Houston. Acquired from the Chicago Bears this past offseason, Moore previously spent five seasons with the Carolina Panthers before being dealt to Chicago ahead of the 2023 campaign.
Across the 2019 through 2023 seasons, he eclipsed 1,100 receiving yards four times, highlighted by a career-best 2023 performance featuring 1,364 yards and eight receiving touchdowns.
