'College GameDay' announces Week 5 location, snapping SEC streak

ESPN's popular pregame show is breaking away from the Southeastern Conference for its fifth week of the autumn calendar. Program host Rece Davis expressed excitement about visiting Iowa City, where the broadcasting crew will cover the matchup between sixth-ranked Ohio State and fourteenth-ranked Iowa on October third.

This upcoming trip marks a return to the Hawkeyes' home ground after a two-decade absence, bypassing several other high-profile games across the country. Following last weekend's thrilling contest where Texas defeated Tennessee in Knoxville, the production staff made their selection over alternatives like Alabama visiting Mississippi State and Clemson hosting Miami.

Looking ahead to the sixth week of competition, organizers have indicated a strong possibility of visiting Tuscaloosa for a marquee showdown between Georgia and Alabama.
