During the third round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at the Old Course, soccer supporters disrupted play by tossing numerous tennis balls onto the 15th green near tournament participants. The target of the demonstration was Celtic Football Club majority shareholder Dermot Desmond, who was playing alongside PGA Tour professional Brooks Koepka as his pro-am partner.
The Celtic Fans Collective later claimed responsibility for the stunt, issuing a statement criticizing the billionaire owner's perceived lack of accountability.
