Golfers can now experience the legendary Tom Weiskopf-designed Snake River Sporting Club in Wyoming, a course that has long been off-limits to the public. Nestled along the Snake River near Jackson Hole, the club’s 18-hole layout blends rugged alpine scenery with meticulous course architecture, featuring a mix of wooded fairways on the front nine and open meadows on the back.
The property retains its historic charm, including an old homesteader cabin from the 1800s that stands as a reminder of the area’s fur-trade past and later ranching roots. Weiskopf’s design, which includes a signature short par-4 on the second hole, offers both challenge and opportunity, with bunkers and strategic terrain allowing for dramatic shots—from eagles to double bogeys.
Until recently, access was restricted to members or their guests, but the club’s new Sylvan Lodge now opens the course to visitors who book a stay, making this exclusive retreat accessible to a wider audience for the first time. The drive from Jackson Hole Airport takes just 40 minutes, leading to a serene setting where the river and surrounding Tetons create a picturesque backdrop for play.
