Yankees news: Cam Schlittler draws Game 1 start

New York manager Aaron Boone confirmed that Cam Schlittler will take the mound for the opening playoff matchup against Boston, edging out Max Fried for the Game 1 assignment while Gerrit Cole stands ready for a potential third contest. Boone also addressed the status of captain Aaron Judge, noting that the slugger has not resumed on-field workouts since sustaining a calf strain last week, though a previous disagreement occurred regarding his availability.

Meanwhile, the squad concluded its 161-game schedule following a weekend rainout that left them with a 94-67 mark. In off-field news, a Broadway revival of Damn Yankees featuring Neil Patrick Harris was formally revealed at Yankee Stadium and will launch previews next March.
