Yankees coach ridiculed for runner thrown out at home vs. Red Sox

During Game 2 of the AL wild card series, New York Yankees third base coach Luis Rojas faced heavy online criticism after instructing Ben Rice to attempt a risky run home from second base. Following Cody Bellinger driving in an early run to push the lead to 2-0, Luis Garcia Jr.

hit a single that prompted Rojas to wave Rice toward the plate, where Nate Eaton's throw allowed Adley Rutschman to easily tag him out and end the fifth inning. Boston capitalized shortly after when Willson Contreras hit a home run in the following frame to cut the Yankees' advantage in half.
