WPL 2027 dates out: Tournament begins January 14, auction to be held in Kochi on October 28

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has locked in the schedule for the fifth Women's Premier League campaign, which runs from January 14 through February 7, 2027. Ahead of the competition, franchises must submit their retention and release lists by September 28, 2026, before heading to the Grand Hyatt Kochi on October 28 for the player auction.

Clubs will operate under a ₹15 crore spending ceiling, with squad rosters restricted to 18 cricketers and a cap of six overseas slots.

While host cities have not received formal confirmation, Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium and Vadodara's Kotambi Stadium lead the race to stage fixtures, with a newly constructed ground in Varanasi also under consideration provided it satisfies domestic operational criteria. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will arrive as the reigning champions after overcoming Delhi Capitals in the 2026 final at Kotambi Stadium.
