Would a change in quarterback make UNC a better football team?

Questions surround the North Carolina offensive leadership after head coach Bill Belichick confirmed that Billy Edwards Jr. will stay in the starter role despite early struggles.

Edwards has completed only nine of twenty-two attempts for one hundred thirty-six yards with one interception across three games, putting his total QBR seventy-seventh nationally. This ongoing quarterback trouble echoes past player struggles under Belichick, such as Gio Lopez at South Alabama and Mac Jones in New England, both of whom showed dramatic improvement after leaving his system.

Meanwhile, Lopez has bounced back to lead Wake Forest to a three-and-one record featuring an upset over sixteenth-ranked Louisville, while Jones rebounded in San Francisco to post high efficiency ratings.
