WNBA to Fine Angel Reese $500 After Atlanta Dream Incident in Playoffs

The Atlanta Dream advanced past the Washington Mystics following a pair of decisive victories in the opening round of the postseason, taking the first contest 92-77 and following up with a 93-75 blowout. Allisha Gray paved the way for the victors with 22 points, while Jordin Canada contributed across the board with 19 points, seven rebounds, eleven assists, and three steals.

Angel Reese also delivered a strong contribution for Atlanta by putting up 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and a game-high plus-minus of plus-twenty-six.

Despite the successful sweep, Reese picked up a postseason penalty that will result in a financial penalty from league leadership. During the fourth quarter, after rejecting a shot by Michaela Onyenwere and securing the ensuing rebound, Reese received a technical foul for directing taunts at her opponent.

Postseason guidelines dictate a five-hundred-dollar penalty for a player's initial pair of technical fouls, leaving the forward needing to exercise caution as the competition progresses.
