Following a dominant opening round sweep of the Washington Mystics in the 2026 postseason, Atlanta Dream standout Angel Reese has added a major individual accolade to her stellar rookie campaign. The league officially revealed that Reese captured the 2026 Kia WNBA Defensive Player of the Year honor after securing forty-six votes, easily outpacing runner-up Gabby Williams of the Golden State Valkyries, who finished with twenty.
Reese contributed fifteen points, seven rebounds, three blocks, and two steals in the ninety-three to seventy-five postseason victory that closed out the series at CareFirst Arena. With the Mystics eliminated, the Dream now turn their attention to the upcoming semifinal matchup against the New York Liberty.
