Willson returns to lineup, hopeful for WC Series; Gasper, Guerrero placed on IL

Willson Contreras made his return to the Boston lineup for the regular-season finale, serving as the designated hitter after missing eight contests due to a hand injury sustained in Texas. The relocation of the game to Tropicana Field came as weather conditions forced a shift away from Fenway Park, leaving the team optimistic about his availability for the upcoming series.

Meanwhile, roster adjustments saw Mickey Gasper moved to the injured list with a biceps issue and Tyron Guerrero sidelined by shoulder discomfort, prompting the recall of Nate Eaton and Wyatt.
