The Detroit Red Wings have officially suspended center Dylan Larkin without pay following his refusal to continue playing for the franchise. The decision follows a request from his representative indicating that the player would no longer suit up for the team due to frustration over a stalled trade process that began in June.
Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff expressed disappointment regarding the situation, noting that the player failed to meet his professional obligations to the organization and his teammates. Larkin has reportedly expanded his list of preferred trade destinations to ten teams while the club actively seeks a suitable deal.
He will remain off the roster until a transaction is finalized.
