History of WNBA Finals winner-take-all games: How Dream-Valkyries are making Game 7 history

The WNBA is set to host its inaugural Game 7 in league history after the Dream defeated the Valkyries in a tense sixth matchup. This milestone arrives following the league's recent shift to a best-of-seven championship format.

While previous title series concluded in winner-take-all scenarios under different structures, this weekend marks the first time the league will decide its champion in a seventh game. Previous decisive contests include the Liberty's 2024 overtime victory against the Lynx and the Sparks' 2016 win over the same opponent.
