Why did Dream win Game 2 vs. Valkyries? Allisha Gray’s 2-word answer is epic

The Atlanta Dream defeated the Golden State Valkyries 79-65 in Game 2 of the 2026 WNBA Finals at Chase Center, evening the championship series at one win apiece. Angel Reese anchored the effort with a dominant 30 points and 16 rebounds, providing the physical presence that overwhelmed Golden State's defense after Atlanta struggled in the opener.

Allisha Gray contributed 18 points and credited Reese directly for the turnaround, while Rhyne Howard set a Finals record with six steals to help control the game on both ends.

This victory marks the Dream's first win in the WNBA Finals and follows a postseason run in which they swept the Washington Mystics and New York Liberty. The franchise had previously tied a record with 30 regular-season wins to secure the No.

3 seed, and the series now shifts to Georgia with the Dream looking to convert their renewed momentum into a title.
