Why Colorado is Benching Julian Lewis at QB for Isaac Wilson, With Famous NFL Brother

Colorado is shifting its starting quarterback role ahead of a matchup against twelfth-ranked Texas Tech. The team is moving away from former five-star recruit Julian Lewis after his performance across the first four weeks of the season.

Lewis accumulated 733 passing yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions on a 64.2 percent completion rate, though the bulk of those numbers came during a Week Two contest. Isaac Wilson, whose older brother is former New York Jets second overall selection Zach Wilson, is expected to step into the starting position.

Wilson earned the opportunity after replacing an injured Lewis during a game against Baylor, where he completed 12 of 25 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown.
