Which MLB Teams Have Never Won The World Series?

The 2026 World Series marks a historic milestone as either the Milwaukee Brewers or the Tampa Bay Rays will secure their first championship title. Currently, Milwaukee holds a 3-1 series lead following a victory by Tampa Bay in the fourth game.

This matchup highlights two of the five franchises in Major League Baseball history that have never claimed a title. The Brewers, who transitioned from the Seattle Pilots in 1970, previously reached the Fall Classic in 1982 under manager Harvey Kuenn, where they fell to the St.

Louis Cardinals in seven games. Their 2026 path to the championship round included a 103-win regular season and postseason series victories over the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay franchise, established in 1998, has been building its postseason resume since dropping the Devil Rays moniker after the 2007 season.
