West Ham fight back from two down to draw fiery derby at Millwall

West Ham United salvaged a 2-2 result against bitter rivals Millwall after overturning a two-goal deficit in their first Dockers derby clash in 14 years. The hosts took commanding control early through physical pressure, with Caleb Taylor converting a 16th-minute scramble following a Lyndon Dykes long throw and stops by Mads Hermansen against Mark Sykes and Tairyk Arconte.

Dykes created another opening via a throw-in for Camiel Neghli to double the margin, while Sykes rattled the woodwork from 35 yards out just before the interval.

Substituted into the match at the break, Mohamadou Kante ignited the visitors' revival by drilling a 25-yard attempt inside the post, prior to Konstantinos Mavropanos nodding home a back-post cross to level the scoreline. West Ham's hopes of achieving a breakthrough win on Millwall soil for the first time since 1988 took a blow when Kante lost control of the ball and tripped Kyrell Lisbie to earn a dismissal, but Dykes missed the target on an ensuing stoppage-time opportunity.

Despite dropping points, the comeback ensured West Ham preserved their position at the summit of the Championship table.
