Well-rested Dallas Stars hope long offseason sets them up to make another deep playoff run

Following a first-round postseason exit 155 days prior, the Dallas Stars are preparing for their season opener against St. Louis after experiencing their longest summer break in five years.

General manager Jim Nill noted that the extended rest allowed banged-up skaters to heal and gave the team a crucial physical and mental recovery period.
