Wednesday Rockpile: The optimistic improvement of the 2026 Colorado Rockies

After enduring consecutive campaigns tainted by historically miserable statistics, the Colorado Rockies displayed encouraging signs of progress during the 2026 season. Although the franchise suffered its fourth consecutive 100-loss year by finishing with a 104-defeat record, this represented a notable fifteen-game improvement over their dismal performance the previous season.

The squad reached the ten-win milestone significantly faster in April compared to the prior year, and secured their forty-third victory months ahead of their previous pace. Much of this upward momentum stemmed from an offensive awakening guided by Brett Pill and Jordan Pacheco, helping the batting lineup emerge from the franchise-worst numbers posted in 2025.
