Washington linebacker Jacob Manu has been selected as a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes the top student-athlete in the country based on academic and athletic achievements.
The veteran defensive leader is among over two hundred candidates for the honor in its thirty-seventh year, overseen by the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame. Manu has recorded twenty-two tackles and one and a half sacks across three appearances this year after previously starring for Arizona.
Following a brief transition to the Pacific Northwest, Manu will look to bolster his candidacy as Washington enters its upcoming conference matchup against Minnesota. The contest is scheduled for Saturday evening at Husky Stadium in Seattle, marking the program's debut in Big Ten play.
