Washington Huskies' defense should give USC offense a strong test

As USC prepares to face Washington this weekend, the Trojans' offense faces a formidable challenge from a highly touted Huskies defense. Through the first three games of the season, Washington's front seven has surrendered an average of only 105 yards on the ground per contest while accumulating eight sacks.

Key defensive contributors include veteran linebackers Jacob Manu, Xe'ree Alexander, Zaydrius Rainey-Sale, and Buddah Al-Uqdah.

Along the defensive line, freshmen like Derek Colman-Brusa have joined contributors such as Elinneus Davis and Kai McClendon to stifle opponents. In the secondary, versatile safety Alex McLaughlin has paced the squad in tackles, sacks, and interceptions, making him a standout performer in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Although this matchup appears more manageable for USC than upcoming road dates against Penn State or Indiana, the stiff Washington defense ensures a tough contest.
