Ieuan Evans will step down as chair of the British and Irish Lions on Wednesday, ending a tenure that began in 2022 and lasted just under four years. The former Wales captain, who featured on Lions tours to Australia in 1989, New Zealand in 1993 and South Africa in 1997, said he is proud of the achievements during his time in the role.
Evans was the tour manager for the 2024 men’s side that secured a series win over the Wallabies under head coach Andy Farrell, and the organisation has already begun looking for his successor ahead of the inaugural Lions women’s tour to New Zealand next year.
