Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif has weighed in on the eternal comparison between batting greats Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli during the ongoing ODI series against the West Indies. In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Kaif highlighted that both legends shared a crucial selfless mindset, prioritizing team success and match victories above their personal milestones.
He noted that while Tendulkar possessed a natural composure from the beginning, Kohli had to actively manage and control his emotions early in his career.
Kaif further explained that evaluating athletes from different eras presents a major challenge due to shifting circumstances. He pointed out that Tendulkar carried immense national responsibility with minimal batting support during his time while facing elite bowling attacks, whereas Kohli navigated different technical hurdles and team environments.
Across his illustrious career, Tendulkar appeared in 664 matches across all formats, compiling 34,357 runs at an average of 48.52 alongside 100 international centuries.
