Vikings beat Bucs 23-16, Baker Mayfield injured late in game

The Minnesota squad secured a twenty-three to sixteen victory over Tampa Bay despite offensive struggles, heavily leaning on Brian Flores's defensive unit which brought down the opposing quarterback six times and forced a crucial late interception. Baker Mayfield suffered a right thumb injury while hitting a defender during that final turnover and departed for the locker room, allowing rookie Jalon Daniels to finish the contest under center for the winless Buccaneers.

Minnesota lost receiver Justin Jefferson to an ankle injury early in the contest, while Kyler Murray managed one hundred sixty-eight passing yards and three sacks taken. Myles Price contributed an eighty-six yard punt return score, and Will Reichard added three field goals to seal the triumph.

The victorious group prepares to host Miami next, while Tampa Bay turns its focus toward an upcoming matchup against Green Bay.
