Vaughn Taylor ended a decade-long winless drought with a dramatic playoff victory at the Constellation Furyk & Friends event on the PGA Tour Champions. After a shaky back nine that included a costly three-putt on the 17th, Taylor rallied with a clutch 7-iron shot and a 10-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to defeat Alex Cejka.
The win marks Taylor’s first PGA Tour Champions title and his first professional victory since 2016, when he last won at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Cejka, who had led after a birdie on the 18th, was forced back into action after Taylor’s late surge, ultimately finishing runner-up.
The triumph also secures Taylor’s exemption through the 2027 season, a significant boost after years of struggling with an ailing hip that threatened his career longevity. Michael Wright, who had been tied for the lead, finished third after a double bogey on the final hole, while Ángel Cabrera closed strong with a 67 but trailed by two shots in a five-way tie for fourth.
