Updated SEC football conference standings following Week 5 slate

Following the conclusion of Week 5, only a trio of Southeastern Conference programs maintain unblemished conference records after Mississippi State and Florida dropped their latest contests to Alabama and Missouri respectively. As a result, the Crimson Tide joins Georgia and Texas at the top of the standings heading into the sixth week of competition.

Meanwhile, four other universities continue searching for their initial conference victories of the season. Looking ahead to the next slate of games, a marquee clash in Tuscaloosa between Alabama and Georgia guarantees at least one of these frontrunners will pick up a loss.

Additional notable matchups feature Texas traveling to take on Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl alongside Kentucky welcoming LSU for a ranked battle.
