The UFC has made a surprising move by not extending a contract for undefeated bantamweight Farid Basharat, ending his flawless seven-fight run with the promotion. Basharat, who entered the UFC in 2022 after a unanimous decision win on *Dana White’s Contender Series*, compiled a perfect 7-0 record in the Octagon, including a submission victory over Kleydson Rodrigues and hard-fought wins over Taylor Lapilus, Chris Gutierrez, and Jean Matsumoto.
His most recent bout came in July at UFC 329, where he secured a unanimous decision over John Garza after his original opponent pulled out. The decision leaves Basharat, now a free agent, as the latest high-profile fighter to depart the UFC following a victory, mirroring the earlier release of his brother Javid Basharat earlier this year after a 4-2 record in the organization.
