UNC rises in USA TODAY Sports' Week Four CFB re-rank despite bye week

Even without stepping onto the gridiron during a scheduled rest period, the North Carolina Tar Heels climbed three positions to reach 53rd in the latest iteration of the USA TODAY Sports nationwide 138-team collegiate football index. This upward movement arrives just ahead of a daunting upcoming home fixture against fourth-ranked Notre Dame, a national title contender boasting an unblemished four-game victory record.

To pull off a monumental upset, head coach Mack Brown's squad will require strong performances from playmakers such as running back Benjamin Hall, who previously generated 145 yards and a touchdown against Clemson, alongside Demon June, Jelani Thurman, and signal-caller Billy Edwards.
