UFC Vegas 122 video: Gerald Meerschaert retires after 6th straight loss

Gerald Meerschaert announced his retirement following a unanimous decision loss to Jacob Malkoun in May, marking his sixth consecutive defeat. The veteran’s record now stands at 37 wins and 22 losses overall, with a 12‑14 tally inside the UFC.

The decision came after his appearance on the UFC Vegas 122 card, where he was slated to fight Julius Walker in the light‑heavyweight prelims. Meerschaert’s streak of losses had begun earlier this year and culminated with the Malkoun bout.

His departure ends a career that spanned dozens of fights across multiple weight classes. The announcement was reported by Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie on October 11, 2026.
